Such a problem usually comes from a non-100% text size (DPI) in your computer settings. To control for it in your Windows settings: Accessibility > Text size. A value not set to 100% may cause problems.

This error is typical of a corrupted file. These files cannot be opened anymore.
However, there is an auto-save system that should allow you to recover your data (at least partly).
The auto-save files are created by the program. Every 15 minutes, AnimalTA creates a copy of your project as a security measure. You can find this copy here: "My_installation_folder/AnimalTA/Files/Autosave". You can find more information about how to manage this autosave file in the guidelines section II.7.

Once you launch AnimalTA, click on the interrogation point on the top left corner of the window, close to the program's name. This will open a window with the information relative to your program's version.
